Vivekanand Weaving Mills was formally founded as " Vivekanand Handloom Industris". This industry was started by “ Late. Shri. Tarachand Bohra ” in 1945. In the beginning he started with two Handlooms. At that time one handloom was available at Rs.500/- only.

The main product produced on these Handlooms was ‘Colored Cotton Sarris’ having border of Art Silk; Popular length per sari at that time was ‘9 yds’ & ‘6 yds’. Slowely by making progress upto 1969 there were 80 Handlooms & 24 Power Looms.On the power looms we were used to make color saris only. But slowly the trend started changing. These color saris with border became unpopular. In that place printed saris came in demand. For that purpose we started weaving plane cloth. Simultaneously we started making Dhotis but from the very beginning we concentrated on making Super Fine Dhotis. At that time no manufacturer was interested in Super Fine Dhotis. Taking this into consideration we started using 100’s Count Yarn in Warp and 120’s Count Cotton Yarn in Weft.

For Many years we were the only manufacturer of these Super Fine Dhotis. Not only Weaving but we also started bleaching & mercering these Super Fine Dhotis. Along with these 100 x 120’s Dhotis we started making 80 x 100 , 60 x80 , 40 x 40 , 34 x 34 Dhotis. Along with the many verities of above mentioned Dhotis we started making Dyed Fine Cloth made from 60’s Cotton yarn having heavy read-pick which is known as ‘Cambric’; Finally used as/for many purpose. After 1990 Synthetic Dhotis were came in demand. And we stared making Dhotis made from Polyester , Cotton (PC) Blended yarn. From that time, both these Dhoti verities i.e. 100% Cotton Dhotis and PC blended Dhotis are still manufactured by us.

For last 10 years , consumption of Dhoti is gradually decreasing and we have started making other verities of cloth like Wider Width Dyed Long Cloth , Dyed Casement, Dyed Poplin etc. Also we are the manufacturer of Gray Fabric for Industrial purpose and bottom wears.

We are specialised in making uphostries for Hospitals having woven name over it.
