Vivekanand Weaving Mills was formally founded as " Vivekanand Handloom Industris". This industry was started by “ Late. Shri. Tarachand Bohra ” in 1945. In the beginning he started with two Handlooms. At that time one handloom was available at Rs.500/- only. The main product produced on these Handlooms was ‘Colored Cotton Sarris’ having border of Art Silk; Popular length per sari at that time was ‘9 yds’ & ‘6 yds’. Slowely by making progress upto 1969 there were 80 Handlooms & 24 Power Looms.On the power looms we were used to make color saris only. But slowly the trend started changing. These color saris with border became unpopular. In that place printed saris came in demand. For that purpose we started weaving plane cloth. Simultaneously we started making Dhotis but from the very beginning we concentrated on making Super Fine Dhotis. At that time no manufacturer was interested in Super Fine Dhotis. Taking this into consideration we started using 100’s Count Yarn in Warp and 120’s Count Cotton Yarn in Weft.
